the north east kingdom

hidden in vermont’s northeast corner, the northeast kingdom (NEK) feels like a world of its own — a place where wild beauty, quirky charm, and unexpected excellence collide. glover, a quiet town nestled in this region, is your gateway to a landscape that inspires exploration year-round.

it’s not just nature that makes the NEK special — there’s something in the air (or maybe the water) that creates world-class craft beer and award-winning cheese. hill farmstead brewery consistently ranks as some of the best in the world, and local producers like jasper hill churn out cheeses that are equally world renowned.

this small pocket of the northeast holds some very special skiing and snowboarding terrain, from burke mountain’s technical trails (olimpians are made here) to the serene cross-country paths at craftsbury outdoor center. hikers can find endless trails, from the cliffs of willoughby lake to the forested paths of the kingdom trails. lakes like shadow, willoughby, and crystal shimmer in every season, offering everything from summer swims to winter ice fishing.

there’s something undeniably weird and wonderful about this place, an energy you can’t quite put your finger on but instantly feel. it’s raw, it’s real, and we freaking love it.
